Hot Racing began the 2026 MotoRC season with a race weekend focused on testing and development, as Hikari Okubo arrived directly from the Le Mans 24h to get his first laps on the new Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Friday was dedicated to understanding the behavior of the new rear shock from partner Gears Racing and adapting the setup to the circuit and riding style. On Saturday, new tyres were fitted for the Sprint Race, where Hikari secured his first win of the weekend after seven laps, despite managing an issue with the left handlebar, which required constant adjustment during the race.
Sunday’s main race featured the MotoRC reverse grid, placing Hikari in P9 at the start. After two controlled opening laps, he moved through the field and took the lead with a last-corner pass on Adrian Petrovici. From there, he maintained a consistent pace in the 1:43 range, gradually building a gap to finish the 14-lap race with a 10-second advantage.
After a demanding Le Mans 24h, the first Romanian weekend concluded with a double win and valuable data gathered for the continued development of the S600 project.
“It was a great weekend, starting this S600 project with a new bike. During the races, I managed to keep a consistent pace and win both the Q-Race and the main event. I want to thank my sponsors, my team and my mechanics for their support and work. Mulțumesc!” — Hikari Okubo #78
